"The
National Association of Sales Professionals heartily endorses MNI's sales lead
products. The contact and profile information available from MNI is of great
value to top-tier salespeople in identifying and contacting prospective new
customers."
Manufacturers' News, Inc. (MNI) based in Evanston,
Illinois, is the nation's oldest and largest compiler and publisher of state
manufacturers directories and databases. Our flagship publication, the Illinois
Manufacturers Directory, dates back to 1912. Over the past century we have expanded
our research and product line to the point where we now produce industrial directories
and databases for all 50 states. MNI is the one-stop source for information
on American manufacturers -- the largest purchasing group in America.
Our 80-person editorial staff scours yellow
pages, chamber of commerce lists, trade journals, newspapers, financial reports,
and hundreds of other sources to pinpoint every manufacturing establishment
in all 50 states. Then each manufacturer is contacted by phone and asked up
to thirty questions. Once a listing has been established, each manufacturer
is updated annually with a mid-year mailing address update to ensure the accuracy
of our profiles. We make over one million phone calls and send out over a half
million questionnaires each year to ensure that our information is up-to-date.
We go beyond the traditional single name contact
to give you multiple names per company, ranging from Chairman of the Board to
Plant Superintendent. You won't find a more powerful tool to reach the executive
who has the final decision-making authority. If the person is at a home office
or parent company, we show that too, including the address and phone. So whether
you are targeting the small, medium, or large manufacturer, you can bypass the
mailroom gatekeeper by mailing to desired executives by name. If you are telemarketing,
know who the key decision-maker is before you dial.
We also go beyond the basics with our in-depth
information: address, phone, fax, toll-free, email, website. We show year established,
area of distribution, number of employees, annual sales, size of plant in square
feet, and type of ownership. We list ZIP+4, SIC and NAICS codes, ISO ratings,
computer system, brand names, and more. We cross-index other names under which
firm does business and other division, parent company, and home office location.
If available, this detailed information would
cost as much as $1.15 per profile from our competitors, but only a small fraction
from MNI. For mere pennies, MNI provides accurate, up-to-date company profiles.

Some list companies inflate their numbers by
selling a "manufacturers" list that includes manufacturers agents, reps, copy
shops, and companies no longer in business. Others sell lists that are incomplete
and miss many of the small and medium-sized plants. MNI does the careful, thorough
research necessary to ensure that every manufacturing establishment, no matter
how small, is included. And by the same token, every company in our database
is a legitimate manufacturing establishment.
Many information providers and brokers offer
a list of manufacturers and wholesalers, and retail and consumers, etc. MNI
researches U.S. manufacturers. Period. Major newspapers, radio and television
stations report the results of our canvasses. The Chicago Tribune has called
our Illinois Manufacturers Directory the "annual report card on the state of
manufacturing." Our mission is to compile and provide our customers with the
most comprehensive and accurate database of U.S. manufacturers available, and
we take that mission very seriously.
