EVANSTON, Ill, October 20, 2008/Manufacturers’ News, Inc./--Manufacturers’ News, Inc. (MNI), long-time publisher of directories and databases profiling U.S. manufacturers, announced today that it has entered into a marketing agreement to expand its database to include 600,000 additional businesses, organizations and institutions. MNI reports the expanded database encompasses a broad spectrum of companies, including those in the health care, financial, governmental and transportation sectors, and provides 2,300,000 related executive contact names.

MNI, established 1912, compiles information about the 400,000 U.S. manufacturing establishments and other industrial businesses, so this expansion raises its database to approximately one million companies. The new offering provides users access to major employers beyond the manufacturing sector, and provides customers with the same detailed company information found in the industrial profiles produced by Manufacturers’ News.

“Many of our customers expressed the desire for the same type of high quality business profiles for major employers in non-industrial sectors,” says Tom Dubin, President of MNI. “This expansion allows them to identify and contact selected businesses, organizations and institutions that have a potential need for their products and services.”

Customers seeking to target specific markets have access to custom CD-ROMs that sort companies by geography, SIC code, employee count and other criteria.

The Evanston, IL-based business publisher reports the top three sectors in the newly expanded database are health services, with 67,979 companies listed; social services, with 54,031 listed and educational services, with 42,654 listed. Other sectors in the database include business services, agricultural services, engineering and management, hotels, real estate, eating and drinking establishments and communications firms.
